Phase I Re-Opening Gravity Fitness And Tennis

With the “stay at home” regulations lifting in the Wood River Valley, Gravity Fitness and Tennis re-opened with a Phase I “soft re-opening” on May 18th, 2020. At that time the gym, tennis courts, functional fitness room, and child care were all open to a select group of first responders, health care workers, employees, and personal training class members. We implemented a number of safety measures to ensure all visitors to our facility were as safe as possible from the effects of the Coronavirus/COVID-19.

Air Filtration And Purification

Prior to Phase I re-opening Gravity Fitness and Tennis installed a state-of-the-art air filtration and purification system. This system now filters and purifies all air within the gym, tennis courts, training classrooms, child care, locker rooms, hallways and any area where there will be human activity. This system removes allergens, pollen, dust, mold, bacteria and viruses including the Coronavirus. The system is measured at a 99.9% effective rate and along with airborne particles, it will remove surface particles, too. No other athletic facility in Blaine County, Wood River Valley, Hailey, Ketchum, or Sun Valley has this system, making Gravity Fitness And Tennis the “safest” gym and fitness center in the area.

Phase II Re-Opening

Gravity Fitness and Tennis is ready to re-open for all members on June 1, 2020. As part of our ongoing safety measures, Mats Wilander, our co-owner and tennis professional, prepared this short video to explain how we will maintain high safety standards for our members and guests using our indoor tennis courts.

Members’ Safety Guidelines

Gravity Fitness and Tennis has also implemented a number of new rules for members and guests using the fitness center. First, everyone entering the facility must change from their outdoor shoes to indoor athletic shoes appropriate for gym use. If you have any illness symptoms, coughing, sneezing, fever, chills, dizziness, or headache, do not come into the athletic center. If you know you have been exposed to any person who has these symptoms or active case of Coronavirus, do not come to the gym.

Social Distancing And Face Masks

Face masks are not required by members while exercising in the fitness center. We continue to promote social distancing. Members must keep appropriate distance from each other to maintain a safe environment for all.

Clean Exercise Equipment

Members using equipment must clean any piece of equipment they are using both before and after use. The club has upgraded the equipment cleansing solution to a mix of hydrogen peroxide and distilled water. This mixture will eliminate any bacteria and viruses from surfaces. We also encourage cleaning your hands frequently. The club has several Purell hand sanitizer pumps throughout the gym. Although no cleaning solution can claim that it completely eradicates viruses, we continue to believe that keeping your hands as clean as possible has positive benefits.
